About the Unit
The Faculty of Engineering at Sohag University is dedicated to offering advanced, high-quality educational programs that address the future challenges facing engineers. The Faculty strives to enhance professional practice across various engineering disciplines and contribute to meeting societal needs. It achieves this through creativity, knowledge-based innovation, and the transfer of engineering knowledge to future generations—facilitated by education, scientific research, and partnerships with local and international institutions and organizations
Recognizing the necessity of keeping pace with progress, the Faculty of Engineering at Sohag University has strived to create the conditions required to advance and elevate its educational and research processes. The Faculty has mobilized all material and human resources to support and enhance academic and administrative performance; consequently, it established a Quality Assurance Unit to meet the requirements of implementing a quality system and to pursue academic accreditation.
The Quality Assurance Unit is responsible for managing quality and fostering a culture of quality within the Faculty, maintaining all documentation and guidelines related to the practical implementation of the Faculty’s quality management system..
Establishment of the Unit
The Faculty of Engineering at Sohag University was established by Presidential Decree No. 324 in April 2007, and academic studies began in the 2008/2009 academic year. The Faculty’s Quality Assurance Unit was established on October 21, 2009.

Vision
The Quality Assurance Unit at Faculty of Engineering, Sohag University, aspires for the Faculty to become a leader in implementing comprehensive quality standards at the local, regional, and international levels.
Mission
The Quality Assurance Unit at Faculty of Engineering, Sohag University, monitors, manages, and enhances performance quality across all the faculty activities—including education for students and researchers, as well as community and research services—while upholding societal values. This effort aims to position the Faculty at the forefront of its regional and global peers and achieve the highest standards of quality through a policy of continuous improvement, thereby fostering a culture of quality that produces distinguished graduates equipped with a top-tier engineering education.

- Fostering a culture of quality awareness among the staff members, assistant staff, administrative personnel, and students.
- Realizing the vision, mission, and objectives of the Faculty.
- Realizing the vision, mission, and objectives of the Unit.
- Developing distinguished personnel in the fields of performance assessment, quality assurance, and accreditation.
- Establishing an integrated database for all Faculty activities.
- Enhancing the performance levels of all Faculty departments and administrative units.
- Effectively contributing to the quality and excellence of services provided by the Faculty, particularly regarding the quality and competence of its graduates.
- Implementing national quality and accreditation standards across all operational areas of the Faculty and preparing the Faculty for quality assurance and accreditation.
- Ensuring that graduates and affiliates of the Faculty of Engineering at Sohag University command the confidence of both local and international communities.

Unit Activities
- Preparing the faculty’s strategic plan in accordance with the standards of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE).
- Preparing the faculty’s annual operational plan.
- Developing the faculty’s strategic plan and defining its overall objectives.
- Preparing the faculty’s self-study dossier at both the institutional and academic levels.
- Preparing annual internal audit reports.
- Formulating necessary development proposals based on the analysis of performance evaluation team reports.
- Training students to participate in quality-related activities by establishing “Friends of Quality” groups
